Season '10-'11

Throughout this season I will be performing concerts at the WFMT/Salon series of Pianoforte Chicago, as well as at various locations in and around Chicago with CUBE. In March of 2011 I will be joining David Bowlin in concert featuring sonatas for violin and piano by Bartok, Prokofiev, Antheil and Enescu. A duo concert for two pianos is set for late April with Composer/pianist Lawrence Axelrod. Please e-mail me for more info at info@huydts.com or watch the events link.

New and planned works

In December of 2010 I finished three new sonatas for Viola and Piano, performed live on WFMT on April 1, 2011 with violist Keith Conant. Click here to see and hear samples. I am presently working on a work for narrator, small orchestra and choir, as well as a set of piano studies.

In early 2012 I will be recording my first solo CD, to be released shortly thereafter. Stay tuned for more information.

Acclaimed Flutist Mary Stolper has recorded Music for Flute and Piano as part of the Chicago Duos CD for the Cedille Records label. This recording was released in 2003 and the work got a favorable review in the Gramophone.

I am thrilled to announce that my Sonata Breve for Bassoon and Piano was accepted for publication by Jeanne Inc publishing of Minnesota. Beautifully set, the piece can be purchased online here. More works to be published are under consideration.
